that's cool guys. I just saw this thread. I like hearing other people talk. It's facinating how much a language changes when it's spread so far apart around the world. It really is creativity hard at work. Let me try one of my own. Ok, here it goes... Y'all'l lyke dis'un. Um frum da su-thrn stayts an i wunna say Hy. ta all ma fella su-thrners out der' . Inea y'all lyke fishin? And... a few new words from redneckville, USA... Sensuous- Example: Sensuous up, would you mind getting me a beer? Widdjadidja- Ex. You didn't bring any beer widdjadidja? Now these fine examples of southern accent are courtesy of the stand up comedian, Jeff Foxworthy. He is well known for attempting to educate the rest of the US on southern culture and accent. The southern dialect to me has its good points. I like the Y'ALL contraction because its easier than saying YOU ALL. Although, it's not correct/proper to say or write. Of the many different dialects in the US, I would have to say that i do enjoy hearing a good proper southerner speak, with the accent. It's almost sounds like you are from a different country. My family back home in Kansas has a hard time understanding me sometimes. I have to slow it down for them, and actually pronounce all the sylables in my words. Y'all check this out:

Very good point I know the state it self is really in the south. However, referring to a lot of the people that live here, not all but I would say the majority, the term used is Pensyltucky. LOL Gotta love migration. I haven't figured out why Kentucky became part of it, but hey it was a northerner who came up with it ( no offense to anyone living in the north, just joking around) Ace
