hmmm... good choice Col. For voice talent alone I would have to go with: She recorded this song in 1 take and another one of my fav's: It is difficult to compare with Etta James, she does it well. -Jay

Mine's Mariah Carey and here's my favourite song from her, though there are many including her christmas song. I dont think any other womens voices can compare to hers, sorry but shes in a league of her own . This is live ... ------------------------------- Sorry, one video per post only. There is only a limited amount per videos per page allowed. Even if others don't "use" they right to put it up, we should stick to the one post - one video thing. DrRyan

I have never heard her sing one note off key and you have to give it up for Ann Wilson from heart. I stiill have the LP "Dreamboat Annie"........ that's a vinyl record if any of you young ones were wondering. ;D Her voice has a rocker, but soothing sound. It was Heart's "How Do I get You Alone" that first got me and my wife together back in High School in 1987....... 21 years ago. God.....I'm old!!!!! doc

Oh man, the songs are awesome guys! I picked my fav RECENT artist, though after thinking about it, I should be smacked for not putting this one first... these two go out to Col and Gunny, indeed some great late-night tracks: Ella Fitzgerald: Summertime Georgia: Cheers!

Never thought about posting a country artist, but the favorite for me is Martina McBride. Beautiful and powerful voice. Whatever you say And if there is any doubt if it is real or the studio tweaking her voice, a live version for comparison. doc

Hmmm, my favourite singer is a dutch artist. She might not be the prettiest and she's given birth do like 4 children, but her voice! She has the type of voice that just needs to be used. Well, check it out yourself its worth it!
The Dark - Anouk (wtf @ clip)
Jerusalem - Anouk
RU Kiddin me - Anouk
And one other artist that I adore, she's not all that famous. She's actually a background singer. But! She has her minutes of fame in the most beautifull song in the world and it's her voice that makes it so. Seen them live last year, I was already sold to the song but her performance makes it better! I present, Roger Waters - The great Gig in the Sky
