Hey Everyone,
(These statistics are collected in the United States and may or may not be an issue in the country you currently reside in)
I am worried about the future of kids today because the schools are passing various rules that will have a big effect on the kids today. One of these rules is the idea of practicing Physical Education as a step to a healthier future. According to some schools, they passed a rule that was brought up from an innocent game of Tag a while ago and initiated the…
This is a problem for most kids as almost all childhood activities involved some “touching”. Today, there are many overweight to obese kids in modern society where these physical activities could reduce or minimize the effect of this epidemic.
I remember when I was in grade school (Elementary school K-5); I use to participate in Physical Education everyday and loved it as it encouraged team play and social skills development. Currently, the same school I went to for grade school is now limiting Physical Education as a weekly to biweekly activity instead of the everyday routine back then. The situation is worst for middle school and high school (6-8 = Middle, 9-12 = High) students. This is because teenagers are currently restricting from physical activity like sports and in school physical classes because they find no use of it in real life or feel it does not count as preparation for college or real life. This may also be due to the fact that colleges focus primary on the GPA (Grade Point Average) and/or SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) results rather than the physical or extracurricular activities.
In addition to the problem, people have complained about the problem of taxes and are asking to lower them significantly. Of course this may be positive for some people, it will be negitive to others. In other words, this would directly and indirectly affect the budget of the local, state, and federal government and would force them to cut numerous funds to services and regulations. The first place they planned to cut the budget are surprisingly the Recreation and Parks.
EDIT: Also, today's society is focused too much on sueing people for about everything. Of course, we may have problems with money and finance but that does not mean we should sue the school because your child recieved a cut from playing football.
This is why I am FOR the idea of Physical Education in Schools.
What do you guys think?
Sorry about the size of the post. This is not meant to be an organized essay, just my thoughts splattered on this post. ;D

Quote from a MSNBC.com Article
Officials at an elementary school south of Boston have banned kids from playing tag, touch football and any other unsupervised chase game during recess for fear they'll get hurt and hold the school liable.
Recess is "a time when accidents can happen," said Willett Elementary School Principal Gaylene Heppe, who approved the ban.
While there is no districtwide ban on contact sports during recess, local rules have been cropping up. Several school administrators around Attleboro, a city of about 45,000 residents, took aim at dodgeball a few years ago, saying it was exclusionary and dangerous. Modified versions now include softer balls and ways for children to re-enter the action.
Elementary schools in Cheyenne, Wyo., and Spokane, Wash., also recently banned tag during recess. A suburban Charleston, S.C., school outlawed all unsupervised contact sports.
