In 1985, I went to see U2 on the Unforgettable Fire tour in Pittsburgh, PA. Bono passed out before the 1st song after rambling off some drunken rampage of a speech. I got a refund and didn't get to see the make-up date. I did, however, get to see them on the Joshua Tree tour in 1990. But, being a fan of their's since the Boy & October albums, it was a disappointing concert as they had stopped playing alot of the older material by then. Thankfully, we now have YouTube to help ease the pain. Here are some classic U2 cuts that many of these younger ones may never have known existed. I Will Follow Bad October (lead in to) New Years Day I Threw a Brick Seconds Surrender 40 A Sort of Homecoming Wire (sorry.....couldn't find a good video of it ) Bullet The Blue Sky With or Without You I think most everyone knows their hits after Joshua Tree, so we'll leave it at that. doc

Being one of the "oldmen" I have seen over 200 concerts in the States. When I was a young teen, mid/late 70's, my boys and I would travel in the summertime following the Greatful Dead ;D I have over 70 tix stubs from those "trippin" times. (had to keep them to remember I WAS there) My first concert was in '72 where I saw ELO in Red Rocks, Colorado. After that experience... I was pumped on concerts for life !!! Some of the most memorible concerts that I have seen: Boston Led Zepplin Ozzy AC/DC - seen all since Back In Black Styx - seen all since 2112: even reunion tour Paradise in 2001 James Taylor Ted Nugent Police - Only Ghost in Machine - sorry.. didn't impress me CCR C,S,N&Y Alan Parsons Project - a must see Chicago - all since CTA Rolling Stones Three Dog Night Bee Gees - have to admit it Elton John Grand Funk Railroad John Cougar - of couse, Indiana man Bruce Springsteen and many other that I can't think of off the top of my head. Concerts today are not like they were back in the 70-80's. Too many bands/artist focus on the $$$ instead of the music. Hoped you liked my music past and more in the future ;D

I can still remember that concert very well...one of the few I took a girl (friend of another) that was totally nuts over the Police and said she would do anything if I could get her floor seats. I had a friend working for a ticket agency and got me 5th row center ;D I can remember alot of smoke and a few lights but that is about all that impressed in my mind. The music was OK, but at that time I was a Heavy Metal Head Banger. They were a little to lame of a show for me. I had just seen Alice Cooper three nights before. She DID love it though !!! And yes... She kept up her end of the bargin ;D

Hmm concert I wish I was at, that'd have to be Graspop Metal Meeting 2005. I was over at Wacken Open Air that year but the line-up on Graspop was insane. All metal gods were there. Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Metallica, Slayer and Mötorhead. (Okay not all but the biggest anyway).
Cheers, Manwë.
