I just d/l the quake warz demo last night. I haven't had a chance to actually play it tho. I'll check it out when i get off this afternoon. I was wondering if anyone else was interested in QW. I originated in online gaming via Q3, so i'm a quaker to the core. I love wolfET, but i really want to try this one out. If anyone else checks it out, i'd be interested in hearing y'alls thoughts on it.

I been playin it a bit here and there since i d/l the actual demo, not the beta. It seems to be an ok game, but for some reason, it just doesnt appeal to me as much as et does. It might be because of the vehicles. They just make the game kinda seem like c&c renegade. Or maybe i just haven't played it enough for it to grow on me. Strogg voices sound kinda funny to me. They all sound like gremlins. Anyone else had a chance to check it out yet?

I played the very first beta and simply put: The game sucks. It is hard enough to get some teamplay on ET, now imagine players flying around in aircrafts and hooverpacks and driving around in tanks, bikes and jeeps... A fop has to call in an actual artillery cannon which has to be build before he can call the actual arty strike! In a fast developing map it is simply too slow. ET is more like aim and shoot, whereas QW is more like spray and pray. I prefer the good old Thompson to some fancy laser woozy cannon. If I want that, I play Q3.

thats the trouble with new games too complicated, too many things happening. As they use to say on Scrapheap Challenge.. "Keep It Simple Stupid" lol or K.I.S.S, thats y ninendo wii is so popular the games are simple and fun.

well, I never thought about playing quake wars and the comments above show me: this game is not suitable for simple-minded et freaks like us

There are only 2 things which are the same like in et: there are xp to gain, but ways harder then in et, and you cant switch back to windows during the game They don't even get the destroyable stuff like in et (for example the chairs) i think its just a mix out of Unreal Tournament 2004 team-play, Halflife 2 GDF`s, DOOM 3 Stroggs`s, Battlefield gameplay and performance, And yeah for real: near at the Command and Conquer Tiberius History, obviously the C&C Renegade ... Mutants/Aliens with lasers and creep materials vs Humans which will defend the earth. And vehicles were destroyable 2 with your "normal" laser-mp I can hardly say there are some new ideas in that game, well, I'm very happy with good old et, no need to get that alien et game thingy ... Greets, Kane
